Need stills out of a video — thumbnails, a contact sheet, or one frame every few seconds? This tool grabs frames straight from a video file and saves them as images.
Choose 'Every N seconds' to capture at a fixed interval (say, one frame every 10 seconds), or 'N frames' to get a set number of evenly-spaced stills across the whole clip. The frames download as a ZIP, each named with its timestamp. It all runs in your browser — your video is never uploaded.

How does it work without uploading my video?
Your browser decodes the video locally and we capture frames from it on a canvas. The video file never leaves your device.
Which video formats are supported?
Whatever your browser can play — MP4 (H.264), WebM and most MOV files work in modern browsers. Unusual or very new codecs (e.g. H.265/HEVC) may not decode everywhere.
Is there a limit on the number of frames?
To keep things fast, a single run captures up to 300 frames; if your interval would produce more, you'll be told and given the first 300. Increase the interval for fewer, wider-spaced frames.
